Waiting for Now
캔버스 위에 아크릴화 60” x 24”, 2018
Acrylic on canvas 60” x 24”, 2018“기다리는 중”은 우리가 일반적으로 시간을 선형적으로 이해한다는 점에서 출발했다. 나는 시간을 좀 다르게, 아마도 불교에서 말하는 상존의 감각에 따라 생각해 보고 싶었다. 중앙의 형체는 살아 있는 생명체의 남은 부분을 의미하는 단순한 물체다.
Waiting for Now, came from our general understanding of time as linear. I wanted to think of time differently, perhaps more in line with the Buddhist sense of ever-present now. The central shape takes on a simple object standing in as a remnant of a living creature.
